Founded in September 2011, Peculiar Streams took place roughly every two months in the East Village, New York City.
Envisioned as “part workshop, part cabaret,” the goal of the show was to provide authors, musicians, filmmakers, comedians, and performance artists with a venue to take risks, test new material, and hone their craft.
Peculiar Streams was regularly featured in Nonsense NYC and included readings and performances from Julia Alekseyeva, Joe Berkowitz, Sarah Dooley, Eli Grober, Kyle Horn, Claire Kiechel, Dan Kitrosser, Alison Klemp, Adam Valen Levinson, Brendan McLaughlin, Jacob Rice, Ian Scheffler, Marguerite Van Cook, Bob Vulfov, and many more.
It was curated and hosted by Matt Herzfeld and Sam Reisman. The project concluded in 2018, after 38 shows.
